Cobalt is dedicated to fighting for systems, structures and policies that protect reproductive rights and guarantee comprehensive, universal access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion.

Cobalt dates back to 1967, when Colorado became the first state to allow legal abortion. In 2020, Cobalt became a fully independent, Colorado-based abortion rights organization. In 2022, with the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade, Colorado’s role as a haven state for abortion access became mission-critical, so we put abortion access into our state laws. And in 2024, we enshrined access in the Colorado State Constitution. We are not just a place where abortion access is protected, we are a beacon of hope for the country.

We understand that each individual’s health autonomy is at the core of our vision. To guide that focus, we work deeply with impacted communities. We are in constant relationship with the providers, advocates and impacted individuals to understand their unique needs and amplify their stories.

Keep Your Appointment

If you have an appointment with an independent clinic, doctor, or abortion provider, KEEP IT! If you need help paying for an abortion, you can go to cobaltaf.org for both procedural and practical support. Amendment 79 constitutionally protects the right to access abortion care in Colorado. As we get more info, we’ll keep you posted.
